Rive Gauche de l'Arve is a scenic riverside trail on the left bank of the Arve, on the quieter side of Geneva. The vibe here is noticeably different from Jonction, more residential and peaceful.

The trail starts in the residential neighborhood of Veyrier and is also walkable from Champel. Worth noting that there is no water fountain until about halfway along the trail, so bring your own especially in the warmer months. On weekends there are quite a few joggers sharing the path so keep that in mind.

One of the highlights of this trail is the open fields along the way, great for fetch or even organizing a dog meetup. While the river runs alongside most of the route, the water temperature is quite cold due to glacier melt and the current can be strong. We admire it more than we swim in it.

Abby loves this trail for the same reason she loves Jonction, it is long and she can run endlessly. Even though the water is cold she still enjoys a quick dip, though we skip fetch in the river here for safety.

At the end of the trail you will find the Veyrier, Pont de Sierne bus stop where you can take the 8, 20, or 41 back. If you prefer to walk back the way you came, the full round trip is about 9km.

Would we go back? Yes, to switch it up from Jonction.
