Who we are
AbbysMap.ch is a dog trail guide for Switzerland, run by Chrissie and Abby the Australian Shepherd. You can contact us at hello@abbysmap.ch.
What data we collect
We do not collect personal data for browsing the site. However, when you place an order in our shop, we collect your name, email address, shipping address, and billing address solely to fulfill your order. The legal basis for processing is contract fulfillment (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
Shop & Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe (stripe.com). Your card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure payment interface and never pass through our servers. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified.
Order details (name, email, shipping address, items purchased) are stored in our order management system to allow us to fulfill and track your shipment. Personal data such as name, email, and shipping address is deleted within 12 months of fulfillment. Payment records (order number, amount, date) are retained for 10 years as required by Swiss accounting law and are held by Stripe. We do not share your data with any third party except as necessary to fulfill your order.
Third-party services we use
- Cloudflare - hosts this website and may log IP addresses and request data for security purposes. See Cloudflare's privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
- Sanity - powers our content and serves images via their CDN. See sanity.io/legal/privacy
- Stripe — processes payments in our shop. Your card data is handled directly by Stripe and never passes through our servers. See stripe.com/privacy
- Mapbox - powers the trail map on the Explore page. See mapbox.com/legal/privacy
- Open-Meteo - provides weather forecast data for trail pages using MeteoSwiss ICON model data. Requests are processed server-side. See their terms at open-meteo.com/en/terms
- Google Fonts - we use these to maintain a consistent visual experience. To do this, your browser may download font files directly from Google, which may log technical request data like your IP address.
- Web3Forms - powers our contact form. When you submit the contact form, your name, email and message are processed by Web3Forms. See their privacy policy at web3forms.com/privacy

Some links on our Gear page are affiliate links to Amazon.de. If you click and purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only recommend products Abby has actually used.
Cookies
We use a single cookie to remember your dark/light mode preference. No tracking cookies are used.
Your rights
Under Swiss data protection law (nDSG), you have the right to request information about any data held about you. Since we don't collect personal data directly, there is nothing to request. For data held by third-party services listed above, please refer to their respective privacy policies. If you are located in the EU or Switzerland you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements), and to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
