After three days of a jam-packed schedule, we were starting to feel the wear and tear. By Day 4, the constant winding mountain roads were also beginning to make me feel a bit car sick, so it was the perfect time to shift gears and explore the Avignon area at a slower pace.

Getting there
The drive from Roussillon was only about an hour away and incredibly easy and straightforward compared to the mountain passes.
Where We Stayed
We stayed at Le Moulin d'Aure, about 30 minutes outside of Avignon. The property was large and well maintained with its own restaurant and pool.
We booked a comfort room with a terrace. The room itself was not huge, but the bathroom was very spacious and the terrace made it worth it. All the staff we encountered were genuinely friendly and we were very happy with our stay.

The on-site restaurant Tutti Quanti also serves great food. Out of the three nights we stayed, we dined there twice because sometimes you just want to stay put and relax. One thing to note is that in peak season they have a minimum three night stay requirement. Our friend could only join for one night and the staff were really great about accommodating our arrangement.

Nightly rate was €156 with a pet fee of €15 per night.
What We Did
Day 4
We spent the morning in Avignon. Some of the historical sites do not allow dogs, but there were still plenty of places to walk and dine with Abby. A good city to explore at a relaxed pace.
Day 5
We visited the nearby town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. The weekly farmers market there was by far the best I have ever been to. I came home with jams, olive oils, whole black truffles, spreads, and sauces. Everything was wonderful.
Without question, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is my favorite town I visited in Provence. For lunch we went to Edú Restaurant. The terrace vibe was great and we got to try local dishes like panisse. The dessert was also amazing.

Day 6
We drove back to Geneva and stopped in Annecy for lunch on the way home.
Final Thoughts
Saint-Rémy-de-Provence stole my heart. If I had it my way, it is a place I would like to visit every year.
